T20I Career
Shreyas Iyer made his T20I debut for India on 1 November 2017 against New Zealand in Delhi. He did not bat in that match but in the next T20I vs NZ in Rajkot, he scored 23 runs from 21 balls.
He scored his first T20I half-century against Bangladesh in the series-decider at Nagpur in November 2019 where he scored 62 runs from just 33 balls, hitting 3 fours and 5 sixes. Rohit Sharma-led India had won that match by 30 runs.
ODI Career
He made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka at Dharamsala on 10 December 2017. In his first match, he scored only 9 runs playing at No.3 batting spot.
But in the very next match at Mohali, he scored a terrific knock of 88 runs from 70 runs, hitting 9 fours and 2 sixes. It was the same match in which captain Rohit Sharma had scored 208* runs from 153 balls. India had made 392/4 batting first and then won the match by 141 runs.
Shreyas Iyer scored his first ODI hundred against New Zealand in Hamilton in the 1st ODI of the series on 5 February 2020. He had made 103 runs from 107 balls, hitting 11 fours and 1 sixes in that match batting at No.4 spot. But Virat Kohli-led India had lost that match by 4 wickets, as NZ successfully chased the huge 348 runs target.
