2: David Warner:
Arguably the greatest opener in the history of the competition, David Warner’s appetite for runs shows no signs of declining once the IPL season commences.
He plunders them at abundance, at a high scoring rate and manages to score the big runs including the 100s too to build a rock-solid base for his team’s middle order to capitalize upon.
Also, Warner’s sheer stroke-making ability is at times unmatchable especially in the batting-friendly tracks on display during the IPL season.
The southpaw has managed 4706 runs at an average of 43.17 with four centuries and 44 half-centuries in his IPL career.
Last season, he ended up with the Orange Cap as he managed 692 runs from 12 matches and it wouldn’t be an overstatement to expect more of the same this time around as well.
