The same management had recently organized the Global T20 League Canada 2019 and there were some player payment issues during the tournament. During some matches, players had refused to board the bus to the match grounds because of these issues. So the management wants to be better prepared for the inaugural edition of the Euro T20 Slam. They have assured they will come next year stronger to make the flagship tournament a huge success.

Euro T20 Slam is a new T20 cricket league in Europe. It is the result of the collaboration between Cricket Ireland, Cricket Scotland, and Netherland cricket board ie KNCB (Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond). Let us see the Euro T20 Slam 2019 Cricket Teams, Squads, Players, and Schedule.
This is the first season of this T20 league. The league will begin on 30 August 2019 and will end on 22 September 2019.
The tournament will feature a total of six teams representing two major cities from each of the above three nations. Dublin and Belfast are the two cities from Ireland. Amsterdam and Rotterdam are the two cities from the Netherlands, while Edinburgh and Glasgow are from Scotland.
There will be a total of 33 matches in the tournament. Every team will play with the other 5 teams twice each, once in the home country and once outside. Finally, the top 4 teams in the points table will play the semi-finals on Sept 21, 2019. The Netherlands will host the first ten of the 33 matches, Scotland will host the next ten, while Ireland will host the last 13.

Icon Players & Marquee Players in the Euro T20 Slam First Season
Captain of the 2019 World Champions England-Eoin Morgan, brilliant all-rounder Rashid Khan from Afghanistan, fabulous all-rounder Shane Watson from Australia, destructive Brendon McCullum from New Zealand, star all-rounder Shahid Afridi from Pakistan, and dangerous batsman Martin Guptill from New Zealand are the icon players for the Euro T20 Slam 2019.
Consistent T20 batsman Babar Azam from Pakistan, big-hitter Chris Lynn from Australia, reliable all-rounder JP Duminy from South Africa, wicket-keeper batsman Luke Ronchi from New Zealand, and bamboozling leg-spinner Imran Tahir and lethal fast bowler Dale Steyn from South Africa are the marquee players for the Euro T20 slam 2019.
The special attraction of the tournament will be the World Cup 2019 winning captain Eoin Morgan, who is Irish by birth. This will definitely attract lots of people to the matches. Irish fans would love to see their home star in action. We will see Eoin Morgan playing for Dublin Chiefs. Not to forget he was born in Dublin. Morgan had played for Ireland national team before he switched and started playing for England in 2009.
Euro T20 Slam 2019 Squads Selection Rules
Each team squad :
- Can have a total of 16 to 18 members.
- Will have pre-drafted one icon player and one marquee player (overseas international players).
- Can have a maximum of 7 overseas international players (including the two pre-drafted players). Out of the maximum 7, five players are compulsory and 2 are supplementary optional for selection.
- Must have 9 local players.

1) Max 5 overseas international players
2) At least 6 Local Players

1. Amsterdam Knights Squad
Australian all-rounder Shane Watson is the Icon player and South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir is the marquee player of the Amsterdam Knights.
The team will also have Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting, Pakistani batsman Ahmed Shehzad, Pakistani medium-fast bowler Hasan Ali, Pakistani-born Zimbabwean batsman Sikandar Raza, West Indian pacer Alzarri Joseph, English first-class cricketer batsman Varun Chopra, Pakistan-born Canadian all-rounder and player of the match in the GT20 2018 final, Saad Bin Zafar, Dutch wicket-keeper batsman Tobias Visee, South African-born all-rounder Roelof van der Merwe who now plays for the Netherlands, South African-born Dutch pacer Brandon Glover, Australian-born Dutch batsman Ben Cooper, Dutch pacer Paul van Meekeren, Dutch cricketer Philippe Boissevain, South-African born Dutch wicket-keeper batsman Wesley Barresi, and Dutch cricketers Sikander Zulfiqar and Antonius Staal.
Mark O’Donnell who had earlier coached for Auckland, will take the responsibility as a coach for the Amsterdam Knights.
2. Glasgow Giants Squad
Former New Zealand batsman and captain, Brendon McCullum is the icon player and South African fast bowler Dale Steyn is the marquee player for Glasgow Giants.
English all-rounder Ravi Bopara, Pakistani Pacer Usman Shinwari, Portuguese-born Australian all-rounder Moises Henriques, Afghan leg-spinner Qais Ahmad, South-African wicket-keeper batsman Heinrich Klaasen, South African batting all-rounder Jon-Jon Trevor (JJ) Smuts, South-African-born Scottish batting all-rounder Richie Berrington, Scottish batsman George Munsey, English-born Scottish fast-medium bowler Alasdair Evans, Scottish bowler Safyaan Sharif, Scottish wicket-keeper batsman Matthew Cross, Scottish all-rounder Tom Sole, Scottish medium-pacer Scott Cameron, Scottish slow left-arm orthodox bowler Hamza Tahir, and Scottish batsman Michael Jones are the other members of the 17-member Glasgow Giants squad.
Former South-African all-rounder Lance Klusener will be the coach of Glasglow Giants.
3. Dublin Chiefs Squad
World Cup 2019 Winning Team captain and formidable English batsman Eoin Morgan is the Icon Player for the Dublin Chiefs. Morgan was born in Dublin and so will be the star attraction for the Irish crowds. Pakistan’s talented batsman Babar Azam is the marquee player for the Dublin Chiefs.
The team will also have Pakistani pacer Mohd. Euro T20 Slam 2019 Schedule
Below table shows the complete schedule of the Euro Slam T20 2019 to be played from August 30, 2019, to September 22, 2019.
There will be 30 league matches and 3 knockout matches. The final will take place at Malahide Cricket Club, Dublin in Ireland on September 22.
