Aus vs Pak 2nd Test 2019: Team News & Playing 11
Team News
- Captain Tim Paine seemed happy with his bowlers in the 1st Test, so there is less chance he will make any changes to the bowling unit.
- Seamer Mohammad Abbas who had taken 17 wickets in the two tests against Australia in October 2018 in the UAE is likely to return to the side.

AUS vs PAK 2nd Test 2019 Dream 11 Team Prediction and Suggestions:
Let us see who we can select as wicket-keeper, batsmen, bowlers and all-rounders in the Dream 11 team
Wicket Keeper:
Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan, who came in as a replacement for the former captain and wicket-keeper Sarfaraz Ahmed, batted really well in the 1st Test at the Gabba. He scored 37 runs in the 1st innings and 95 runs in the 2nd innings.
On the other hand, Tim Paine has crossed the 50-run mark in only one inning in his last 13 Tests.
So Rizwan would be the obvious choice for the role of the wicket-keeper.
Batsmen:
David Warner seems to have got his confidence back after the disappointing Ashes series a few months back. His big inning of 154 runs in the 1st Test would likely run into the second Test as well.
Joe Burns who made 97 runs and Babar Azam who made 104 runs in the first Test also seem to be the obvious choices.
Steve Smith got out early in the Gabba Test on just 4 runs on the bowling of Yasir Shah.
But he is Steve Smith, one of the best batsman of the modern-day cricket, and he should make in the Dream 11 team on any day.
Asad Shafiq who batted really well under pressure in the first inning. He scored 76 runs in the 1st inning and 0 runs in the second inning. Both times he was dismissed by Pat Cummins. Asad Shafiq should definitely make in the Dream 11 team as a batsman. Hopefully, he will find a way to deal with the bowling of Cummins.
All Rounders:
Marnus Labuschagne who was supremely reliable in the Ashes series impressed again with his 185-run mega knock in the 1st Test. So he will be the 1st all-rounder to go in our Dream 11 team.
Travis Head is second all-rounder pick, as Adelaide Oval is his home ground. He, however, has played only one Test at the ground and it was against India last year. He was quite good in that Test. He had scored 72 runs in the 1st inning then.
Bowlers :
Josh Hazlewood has a very good record in the day-night Tests and so is a must in the Dream 11 final team.
Along with him world’s number one Test bowler Pat Cummins also is a must pick.
From Pakistan’s point of view, Mohammad Abbas who had missed the first Test at the Gabba will likely return.
He was impressive in the UAE Test series against Australia last year and must be hoping to repeat the similar great performance here in Australia.
Off-spinner Nathan Lyon was impressive last year in the Adelaide Oval Test against India. He had taken 2 wickets in the 1st inning and 6 wickets in the 2nd inning of that Test. So he can be considered as an option in the Dream 11 team. He would be potent if the pitch degrades easily and starts to turn in the third and the fourth innings.
So would be the leg-spinner Yasir Shah, who took 4 wickets in Australia’s only inning in the 1st Test of the current series.
But we must not forget this is a day-night Test, so there is less chance for spinners comparatively, as the ball would be hard to grip and may not turn much due to the dew factor in the evening.
So it is better to go with another pacer in my opinion. So I will go with Imran Khan Jr.
