Season 7 of the Caribbean Premier League will begin on Sept 4, 2019, in Trinidad. The tournament will start with St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots taking on the last year’s winner Trinbago Knight Riders. Today in this article we will see the 2019 CPL (Caribbean Premier League) T20 teams, players, squads, schedule and the winners of all past seasons.

Six Teams Participating in the CPL T20 2019
West Indies is actually not a country, but a group of some Caribbean island-nations, who have come together to play cricket. West Indies played their first international match in 1928 when they got the test status.
Cricket West Indies, the governing body of the team, consists of the six cricket associations of Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Leeward Islands and the Windward Islands.
In CPL, we have six teams representing six independent island-nations. They are:
- ‘Barbados Tridents’ representing Barbados,
- ‘Jamaica Tallawahs’ representing Jamaica,
- ‘St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots‘ representing St. Kitts and Nevis island,
- ‘St. Lucia Zouks’ representing Saint Lucia island, (This year, St Lucia Zouks have replaced St Lucia Stars)
- ‘Trinbago Knight Riders’ representing Trinidad and Tobago,
- ‘Guyana Amazon Warriors’ representing Guyana,
2019 CPL T20 Squads of All Teams
Squad Selection Rules:
- Each team squad will have a total of 17 members.
- Each squad must have a minimum of 9 senior West Indies players and two emerging West Indies players.
- There should be 1 ICC Americas player.
- The number of overseas players in the squad should not exceed 5.
Barbados Tridents Squad for CPL T20 2019:
West Indies national team captain and all-rounder Jason Holder who is also from Barbados is the marquee player for Barbados Tridents. He was retained by the franchise.
Pakistani Pacer Wahab Riaz, wicket-keeper batsman Shai Hope, bowler Ashley Nurse, and left-handed all-rounder Raymon Reifer were retained by Barbados Tridents.
English batsman Alex Hales, Pakistani batsman Asif Ali, Nepali leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane, Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim, St. Lucian wicket-keeper batsman Johnson Charles from Barbados, Barbadian slow left-arm orthodox bowler Joshua Bishop, Barbadian batting all-rounder Jonathan Carter, Barbadian pacer Chemar Holder, Barbadian batsman Leniko Boucher, Barbadian all-rounder Roshon Primus, Barbadian all-rounder Justin Greaves, left-handed batsman, and right-arm leg-spinner Hayden Walsh Jr are the other players in the squad. Jamaica Tallawahs Squad for CPL T20 2019:
The star players Jamaican all-rounder Andre Russell and Jamaican destructive batsman Chris Gayle were retained by Jamaica Tallawahs.
Jamaica Tallawahs also retained Jamaican all-rounder Rovman Powell, Jamaican pacer Oshane Thomas, and South-African born New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman Glen Phillips.
New Zealand all-rounder George Worker, Jamaican wicket-keeper batsman Chadwick Walton, Pakistani pacer Amad Butt, Afghan left-arm chinaman Zahir Khan, Barbadian all-rounder Shamar Springer, Trinidadian all-rounder Imran Khan, Jamaican off-spinner Ramaal Louis, Jamaican slow left-arm orthodox bowler Christopher Lamont, Guyanese all-rounder Steven Jacobs, Jamaican batsman Xavier Marshall, Jamaican all-rounder Derval Green, and Jamaican left-hand batsman Javelle Glen are the other players in the Tallawahs squad.
Saint Lucia Zouks Squad for CPL T20 2019:
Saint Lucia Stars (now Zouks) retained St. Lucian all-rounder Daren Sammy, Grenadian wicket-keeper batsman Andre Fletcher, Vincentian medium-pacer Kesrick Williams, and left-arm medium-pacer Obed McCoy.
They got Sri Lankan fantastic pacer Lasith Malinga in the round-1 and Pakistan-born Australian leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed in round-2.
Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera, Jamaican all-rounder John Campbell, Grenadian batsman Roland Cato, Sri Lankan wicket-keeper batsman Niroshan Dickwella, Antiguan off-spinner Rahkeem Cornwall, Jamaican all-rounder Jeavor Royal, Jamaican batsman Andre McCarthy, South African left-arm pacer Beuran Hendricks, Guyanese all-rounder Chris Barnwell, St. Lucian batsman Keddy Lesporis, and Canadian all-rounder Nitish Kumar are the players in St. Lucia Stars (now St. Lucia Zouks )squad for CPL 2019. Saint Kitts & Nevis Patriots Squad for CPL T20 2019:
St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots retained Trinidadian batsman Evin Lewis, Barbadian all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite, South African batsman Rassie van der Dussen, and Jamaican left-arm pacer Sheldon Cottrell.
They bought Sri Lankan all-rounder Isuru Udana in round-1 and Jamaican batsman Fabian Allen in round-2.
English batsman Laurie Evans, Antiguan wicket-keeper batsman Devon Thomas, Guyanese all-rounder Rayad Emritt, Barbadian batsman Shamarh Brooks, Barbadian all-rounder Dominic Drakes, Kittitian all-rounder Jeremiah Louis, Vincentian leg-spinner Keron Cottoy, Barbadian medium-pacer Akeem Jordan, Pakistani leg-spinner Usama Mir, and Barbadian-American all-rounder Aaron Jones are the players in the squad.
(Update) Bangladeshi all-rounder Afif Hossain was also selected but Bangladesh Cricket Board denied him No-Objection Certificate due to a series against Sri Lanka emerging team.

Trinbago Knight Riders Squad for CPL T20 2019:
Last year’s winner Trinbago Knight Riders retained their champion Trinidadian all-rounder and captain Dwayne Bravo in the first round, and another fabulous Trinidadian all-rounder Kieron Pollard in the round-2. They later retained Trinidadian all-rounder Sunil Narine in the round-3 and last season’s leading run-scorer New Zealand’s Colin Munro in round-4.
Trinidadian batsman Darren Bravo and USA pacer Ali Khan were also retained.
Trinidadian wicket-keeper batsman Denesh Ramdin, Pakistani fast bowler Mohd. Hasnain, Trinidadian all-rounder Khary Pierre, New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham, Trinidadian pacer Anderson Phillip, Trinidadian batsman Amir Jangoo, Sri Lankan all-rounder Seekkuge Prasanna, Trinidadian left-hand batsman right-arm off-spinner Mark Deyal, Trinidadian all-rounder Tion Webster, Barbadian medium-pacer Javon Searles, slow left-arm spinner and left-hand batsman Akeal Hosein, and Trinidadian batsman Lendl Simmons are the members in the Trinbago Knight Riders squad. Guyana Amazon Warriors Squad for CPL T20 2019:
Guyana Amazon Warriors retained Trinidadian wicket-keeper and left-hand batsman Nicholas Pooran, Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik, Guyanese left-hand batsman Shimron Hetmyer, Guyanese all-rounder Keemo Paul, and Guyanese batsman Sherfane Rutherford.
They bought Pakistani all-rounder Shadab Khan in the first round.
Australian pacer Ben Laughlin, Jamaican batsman Brandon King, South Africa-born Australian all-rounder Chris Green, Guyanese batsman Chandrapaul Hemraj, Guyanese pacer Romario Shepherd, Jamaican medium-pacer Odean Smith, West Indian left-handed batsman Keagan Simmons, Guyanese slow left-arm orthodox spinner Veerasammy Permaul, Guyanese wicket-keeper batsman Anthony Bramble, Guyanese all-rounder Clinton Pestano, and Indian-born-American left-arm pacer Saurabh Netrawalkar are the other members of the squad.
(Update-Sept 9: Saurabh Netrawalkar and Shadab Khan had to leave the CPL 2019 due to their international commitments. In place of them, Guyana Amazon Warriors added Afghan leg-spinner Qais Ahmad and South African veteran leg-spinner, Imran Tahir in their squad)

Missing Players:
If you have noticed some big names, such as Rashid Khan, Luke Ronchi, Chris Lynn, and Brendon McCullum are missing in the squads. This is because they have decided to play for the Euro T20 Slam cricket league which is taking place around the same time in the Netherlands, Scotland, and Ireland. The Euro Slam T20 League is scheduled from August 30 to September 22, 2019.

CPL All Past Seasons Winners and Runners up
Caribbean Premier League was first started in 2013. Jamaica Tallawahs had won that first season of CPL by defeating Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final.
Trinbago Knight Riders have won the CPL the maximum number of times. They won three times (2015, 2017, and 2018).
Jamaica Tallawahs won twice (2013 and 2016), while Barbados Tridents won their only title in 2014.
St Lucia Stars (now St Lucia Zouks), Guyana Amazon Warriors, and St Kitts and Nevis have not won the CPL competition yet.
Guyana Amazon Warriors, however, have reached the final four times (2013, 2014, 2016, and 2018)
